Expedite Renewable Energy

Expedite Renewable Energy (ERE), led by champion Stefanie Spear, was recently awarded $30,000 to assist small businesses in setting up on-site energy solutions, including a new wind turbine being installed at Pearl Road Auto Parts and Wrecking.

ERE is your one-stop-shop to assess current electricity usage, strategize the best onsite renewable energy projects and implement your project from start to finish. Expedite Renewable Energy helps companies with the many steps associated with investing in on-site renewable energy projects including but not limited to determining what type of renewable energy project is best for your company, applying for grants to help fund your project, and negotiating your interconnection contract with your utility company.

From the Plain Dealer:
"Installation of the first large, commercial-scale wind turbine in Cleveland begins today. Pearl Road Auto Parts and Wrecking is installing a 120-kilowatt, or 120,000-watt, refurbished European turbine.

The turbine is about half the size of the one at the Great Lakes Science Center.  And like the museum's turbine, this one was manufactured by Vestas Wind Systems of Denmark and refurbished by a U.S. company.

The turbine will be mounted on a 140-foot tower and will be easily seen by motorists on nearby Interstate 480. Local companies will do all the engineering, fabrication and construction."
